Memoirs of a Golf Cart buyer

I'm a 65 year old retired widow who is after three years learning to function again on my own each day. I've finally gotten to the point where my grief of my loss is behind me and I find myself in new uncharted waters looking for things to do and looking for this next chapter in my life moving forward. I took up golf and met with a women's club in my neighborhood and decided I wanted a golf cart of my own and would be nice as well when the grandchildren came to visit. My husband would always take care of the major purchases and all the other things in the past, so going to buy one was going to be very new for me. I asked several of the women if they had any suggestions where to start looking as I also used google as most do. I searched for golf carts near me and so it began. I wanted to see what there was to offer and pricing was almost like buying a car. My first stop was at a place near me that had several golf carts when i pulled in. I reluctantly walked around and looked at several and wondered if someone was going to come out to assist me. After about 15 minutes i left. I drove to another place that had a similar look when i pulled in as well. I walked inside and they had several very nice ones on the showroom floor. A nice younger gentleman came over and asked me if he could help. I politely said yes and honestly didn't know what to ask other than how far can i go and what did i need for a cart i might be buying. He suggested a cart that was on the other side of the showroom and it was a very bright green color and with big mud tires and lots of jazzy extras. He told me about the stereo and how the lights change and more. the price tag said almost 18000.00. I after about 10 minutes told him i would keep looking and left. He didn't offer to get my name or even give me a card. Finally after lunch i thought i would go to one last place and call it a failed day. My last stop was at a shop that had maybe ten total carts and they looked very clean when i walked up to them. A nice man named Richard came out and greeted me very warmly. He asked how he could help and also offered me a bottled water. I told him I wasn't sure about golf carts and had never owned one. He then stated well lets get out of the weather and come inside and see what your needs are. We spent over an hour going over options, colors, seats, etc. He was very helpful and seemed concerned about me and my needs over mud tires and flashy paint jobs. Not once did he ask about the man of the house or a boyfriend which was refreshing. We found the perfect golf cart for my needs and more. I purchased the golf cart and he spent time going over everything to me from operation to charging and more. They set up delivery and the cart was delivered to my home the next day. I'm enjoying my new golf cart and I would suggest to anyone looking to purchase a golf cart to figure out and research them before they buy. Would've made my day a lot more pleasant. Thanks to Richard from that golf cart shop for his professional manner and being a good human being.
