I've got a 1995 Club Car Ds golf cart i bought about a year and a half ago. I purchased it from an older couple who simply didn't have a need for a golf cart anymore. It's a 48 volt cart and just had the normal golf cart look with nothing fancy other than upgraded wheels and the all weather side curtains I guess you would refer to them as. Being a new golf cart owner and never owning one before I was like a kid with a new toy. I shopped on amazon and several other internet sites looking at upgrades and more of what I could do to make my cart all mine. First thing i ordered was a back seat kit so we could ride other passengers. I also ordered a set of black seat covers and took the old green and white striped seat covers off lol. I also took off all the rain skirts or whatever you would call them off of the cart. Installed them with no issues and even bought a Ryobi stapler to make the seats nice and snug. With some simple hand tools you can strip the seats down and then reassemble them fairly easy.
The back seat kit came in and like putting furniture from Ikea together it was assembled and on the cart. What i didn't realize is the cart being a 1995 and also having riders on the back that the tires were rubbing. Well now i had to order a set of heavy duty springs to the cart to stiffen the back of the cart up to handle the extra riders. Not to bad of a job if your fairly handy and have the proper tools in your garage. I called a couple golf cart shops and they wanted about $300-400.00 to install and that's including the parts. I bought new bushing because lets face it its over 20 years and it was time as well. They came in the kit when i bought the leaf springs.
Well that's enough for today but I'll keep you in the loop and the next project is an extended roof and upgraded lights for my old girl. Stay tuned.
